Mapping the ground beneath the water surface.

Depth contours, georeferenced orthophotos, and reservoir capacity reports — tied to survey-grade control and delivered as CAD-ready DXF.

Services

Three ways to survey what the water covers.

S/01

Bathymetric survey

Depth and bottom-terrain mapping of reservoirs, lakes, ponds, tailings and settling ponds, and channels. A single-beam echo sounder paired with RTK positioning logs soundings along planned transects.

Delivers: 1-ft contour map + georeferenced orthophoto
S/02

Volumetric & capacity

Storage capacity and sediment accumulation for reservoirs; stockpile and pit volumes for aggregate and mining sites. Volumes computed against a defined datum with a documented method.

Delivers: stage–area–capacity table + cut/fill volumes
S/03

Combined bathy + topo

One continuous survey across the waterline: sonar below, RTK and drone topography above, merged into a single surface. No seam where the shoreline meets the map.

Delivers: unified surface + contour model
Deliverables

What lands in your inbox.

Every project ships in formats an engineer or CAD tech can open and use directly — no proprietary viewer required.

On method & datum

Horizontal and vertical control is established with RTK GNSS and stated on every deliverable. Soundings are reduced to a common datum before gridding, so depths and volumes reference a fixed elevation you can verify.

Contour interval, coordinate system, and output formats are set to your project at scoping. Default output is a 1-ft contour map plus a georeferenced ortho; volumetric jobs add a stage-storage table.

Method

Five steps from site to sealed map.

01

Plan

Transect spacing and control are set to the site and the contour interval the deliverable requires.

02

Position

RTK GNSS ties every sounding to survey-grade horizontal and vertical control.

03

Sound

A single-beam echo sounder logs depth along transects, with overlapping lines run for check.

04

Process

Soundings are reduced to a common datum, gridded, and contoured.

05

Deliver

Contour map, ortho, capacity report, and DXF — with the control and datum documented.

About

A boundary & topo practice, extended below the waterline.

Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. A boundary and topographic survey practice now covers hydrographic and volumetric work — the same control discipline, applied to the parts of a site that sit underwater.

It's a solo operation, which means you deal directly with the surveyor doing the work, from scoping through the sealed deliverable.
